Problem: The École Publique Le Couer Du Nord in Kapuskasing, Northern Ontario, needed to create an extension to their existing school - but - without the disruption caused when using conventional construction. Not wanting typical school portables, they specifically requested that the school addition look like an extension to the existing building.
Solution:
Provincial Partitions "porta-pak" unit was first assembled in Mississauga. Totalling more than 4,500 square feet of usable space, included are four complete classrooms and a corridor inside. The entire unit was shipped to the remote location in Kapuskasuing and was eventually bricked-in and made to match the existing look and feel of the current facility.
